West Bowdle Grain Facility Upgrade

Bowdle Grain Facility

Agtegra Cooperative is pleased to announce a significant facility upgrade at our West Bowdle Shuttle Terminal. West Bowdle is one of Agtegra’s largest shuttle loaders in terms of both volume and shuttle trains loaded. Over the past year, we have identified the need to upgrade the train loading infrastructure and make some efficiency enhancements that will allow us to be more flexible with our space, decrease lengthy train loading labor shifts, and improve overall facility performance and service to you, our member-owners.

Project Timeline: The scope and size of the project is significant. It is slated to begin in May and last until September, with completion happening before harvest. During the construction process, there will be periods where truck unload and loadout capacities will be very limited or even completely offline.

Project Impacts: We will be offline for loading trains for most, if not the entire window, from May to September. Because we will be unable to load rail, we will be limited in how much grain we can physically take at West Bowdle. Starting in April or May, you will see the bid spread between West Bowdle and our other locations widen out to incentivize movement to the nearest Agtegra shuttle location at Roscoe. It also will cover some of the trucking cost of moving grain delivered into Bowdle back out by truck. Spreads will revert to preconstruction levels when we near the project's completion.

For upcoming wheat harvest, we plan on utilizing our in-town facility to handle wheat.

For those growers that have DP or Condo bushels currently in West Bowdle, we will have a posted bid to price those DP or Condo bushels that were delivered prior to the scheduled downtime.

Bowdle will still be able to accept grain sporadically during the upgrade but may be limited or completely unavailable at times. Please contact the location prior to hauling; we appreciate your patience during the construction process.

Agtegra’s on-farm pickup may also be a useful tool during this time. Contact your local Grain Marketing Specialist, Jeremy VanderVorst, or the West Bowdle location for more details.

Thank you for your continued business.
