Appel Announced as VP of Energy Operations

Agtegra Cooperative is pleased to announce Jerad Appel as its VP of Energy Operations. Jerad has been involved in the energy business since 2008 and joined the Agtegra team in 2020 where he has served as an Energy Specialist and, most recently, Energy Sales Manager.

In his new role, Jerad will direct and manage the profitability, risk management, growth, strategic planning, operational excellence and execution for the energy and retail divisions. Additionally, Jerad will oversee the energy and retail management staff by assisting with establishing workflows and procedures and creating and monitoring standards of performance.

“I am confident Jerad can provide the focus needed to achieve our growth goals while we increase our standards for operational excellence,” says Agtegra SVP of Energy and Feed Milt Handcock.

Jerad was raised in Redfield, South Dakota, where he and his wife, Audrey, currently reside and have raised their four children. In their free time, Jerad enjoys camping, traveling, hunting and attending his kids’ activities

Earlier today, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded Agtegra Cooperative a $3 million grant through the Fertilizer Production Expansion Program (FPEP). The grant enables awardees to increase or expand the manufacturing and processing of local fertilizer and nutrient alternatives for farmers.
