Agtegra Cooperative Announces New CHRO Kristi Johnson

Agtegra Cooperative is pleased to announce and welcome Kristi Johnson as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective December 11, 2023. In this role, Kristi will be responsible for leading the company’s human resource strategy and providing innovative and creative HR solutions at all levels of the organization. She will oversee all aspects of HR; talent management, including recruitment and development; and compensation and benefits and is a welcome member of the leadership team.

Kristi is an experienced Human Resources executive with over 30 years of experience and has held several leadership roles. Kristi joins Agtegra from Black Hills Energy in Rapid City where she was Director of Total Rewards. Kristi has also held positions at Midco, Great Western Bank, and Poet. She is passionate about creating partnerships throughout the company and community.

Kristi grew up on a small farm in Moody County and graduated from Flandreau High School. She attended Southwest Minnesota State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She holds nationally recognized certifications of Senior Professional in Human Resources and Senior Certified Professional.

Earlier today, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded Agtegra Cooperative a $3 million grant through the Fertilizer Production Expansion Program (FPEP). The grant enables awardees to increase or expand the manufacturing and processing of local fertilizer and nutrient alternatives for farmers.
