Agtegra Cooperative Announces Contribution to The DEX: Dakota Events CompleX

Sep 07, 2021

ABERDEEN, S.D. - At Agtegra, our purpose is to build a farmer-owned cooperative that is strong, stable, and dependable so that we can do things for our famers, their families, and our communities that nobody else has the motivation or desire to do.

In alignment with that purpose, Agtegra Cooperative is pleased to announce it has made a multi-year commitment to donate to the construction of The DEX: Dakota Events CompleX – the new, multipurpose livestock and equestrian complex at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds in Huron. This donation is a component of Agtegra’s Community Involvement goal to make a difference on farms, in communities and on rural peoples’ lives.

The DEX will provide a space for over 13,000 4-H and FFA students across the state to exhibit and also expand the event hosting capabilities of the fairgrounds.  Agtegra’s CEO Chris Pearson states, “So many people who are in the agriculture world today can trace their interests in agriculture back to 4-H, FFA, county and state fairs and the opportunities they had as young people to participate.  This donation to the DEX helps ensure the youth of South Dakota will have a place to experience agriculture and learn to love it as so many of us before them have.”

This state-of-the-art building will attract substantial investment dollars from industry organizations seeking to host local and national events at the facility. Throughout the year the DEX will also serve as a major draw for other organizations and events consisting of livestock shows, 4-H competitions, FFA Conventions, and rodeos as well as concerts, thrill shows and more, from across the country.
